MAY PRINTABLE
Father's Day is coming and what better way to gift than with a special coupon book. This month's printable includes all the elements needed to create one -- just add cardstock. The printable even includes a blank coupon so you can create and add your own coupons. Measurements have been provided so you will be able to have a consistent look. These elements can also be incorporated into other projects or used with the Chaps paper collection. Have fun creating!
INSPIRATION
To create my coupon book, I cut, scored and burnished two pieces of black artisan cardstock.
Base: 7 7/8" x 2 7/8" score on long side at 5/8"
Cover: 7 1/2" x 2 7/8" score on the long side at 1/2" and 5/8"
Turn the base cardstock piece to where the 5/8" flap is facing up and on the left side. The flap for the cover cardstock piece will be facing down and on the right side. Add adhesive to the inside of the 1/2" cover flap and place the right side of the base piece on top creating one long piece.
Cut out the coupons and place them in the order you want. This is the perfect time to create and add your own coupons.
Place the coupons underneath the base flap. Fold the flap over and add two staples. I placed my staples at 1/2" inch in from each side and 1/4" up from the bottom. If you don't have a stapler, you can punch two holes and add yarn or thread to secure the coupons to the cardstock OR you can even use your sewing machine and sew across the flap securing the coupons.
A pocket piece has been included in the printable in case you want to include a gift card in the coupon book. Cut out the pocket and add a thin line of glue on three sides and place it on the inside of the cover. That's what I did but I added the blue background first then I added the pocket on top.
I used the plaid piece from the printable to cover the 5/8" flap of the base cardstock piece. First I attached the plaid piece to the front flap and then folded it over, gluing the rest to the back of the base piece.
I tucked the cardstock cover under the 5/8" flap and then added the coupon book image to the top of the cover. I printed out the blue background again and added it to the back of the base piece along with some of the other elements from the printable. Then I used the scraps from the blue background and adhered it to the right side of the cover. I partially glued the Route 66 circle on top of the 5/8" flap for fun. Here's how it turned out.
Just slip the cover in or out from underneath the left 5/8" flap to open and close the cover. It makes such a fun little gift. I can't wait to gift it. And, I can't wait to see your version!
