World Card Making Day 2024

Oct 05, 2024Jacqualine Hart

Did you know World Card Making Day is celebrated each year on the first Saturday in October? It all started in 2006, thanks to Paper Crafts Magazine. They hosted a special event for subscribers to give crafters a head start on creating cards for the holidays. The event went viral—and just like that, World Card Making Day was born! Today, it’s celebrated by card makers across the globe. 🌍💌

Handmade cards have been a cherished tradition since the Victorian era, when cards were first used to announce someone’s arrival. Over time, as printing techniques advanced, so did the art of card making, growing into the vibrant community we’re all part of today!

In honor of World Card Making Day, we’ve got a special treat—a FREE printable just for you! 🎁 We believe everyone should have the chance to make a card, whether you’re a seasoned crafter or trying it out for the first time. This printable was created using Country Craft Creations' beautiful Victorian Teacup paper collection—how perfect is that?
